Ha recibido los premios <em>W. Eugene Smith<\/em>; la beca otorgada por la Fundaci\u00f3n Guggenheim y el <em>Gran Premio del Mes de la Fotograf\u00eda<\/em> en Par\u00eds; En 2008 obtiene el <em>Premio Hasselblad; <\/em>en 2009 el Premio Nacional de Ciencias y Artes en M\u00e9xico, en 2010 recibe el premio <em>PhotoEspa\u00f1a <\/em>y el <em>Lucie Award <\/em>en la ciudad de Nueva York por sus logros en las Bellas Artes.<\/p>\n<p>Ha expuesto en diferentes lugares del mundo como los museos Centro Georges Pompidou, Par\u00eds, Francia en 1982; Philadelphia Museum of Art, en 1998; Fundaci\u00f3n MAPFRE en Madrid, Espa\u00f1a, en 2009; el Fotomuseum en Winterthur, Suiza, en 2009; el Museo de Arte Moderno, Ciudad de M\u00e9xico, en 2011; Museo de La Fotograf\u00eda de Hokaido, Jap\u00f3n, en 1990.
